project São Vicente

Last year, we embarked on a heartfelt mission to build a mosque in São Vicente, a sacred space that would serve as a beacon of faith and unity for the Cape Verdean community. This mosque represents more than just a place of worship; it's a sanctuary where the beauty and teachings of Islam can flourish, offering a sense of belonging and spiritual growth to all who enter. However, our journey faced a significant challenge as the construction came to a halt due to insufficient funds, leaving the mosque incomplete and our hopes temporarily unfulfilled.

Determined to see this dream realized, we rallied together once more, raising €7000 for the final phase of construction. This collective effort embodies our unwavering commitment to sharing the love and teachings of Islam with our brothers and sisters in São Vicente. The completion of this mosque will not only provide a place for prayer and reflection but also foster a sense of community and solidarity, bridging gaps and bringing people together under a shared faith.

In addition to the mosque, we also focused on another crucial aspect of our mission: addressing the immediate needs of those who feel overlooked and neglected. We raised funds to create food parcels for families struggling to make ends meet, providing them with much-needed relief and support. These parcels are more than just sustenance; they are a message of compassion and care, reminding our community members that they are not alone in their struggles.

Together, the mosque and the food parcels symbolize a dual commitment to both spiritual and material well-being. By providing a space for worship and learning, we nurture the soul; through acts of charity and support, we nourish the body and spirit. This dual approach reflects the holistic nature of our faith, which seeks to uplift every aspect of human life. Our efforts in São Vicente are a testament to the power of community and the profound impact we can have when we come together with a shared purpose.
